What is CBD?
Celebrating the 20 Days of 420
April 1st 2020
Thanks for tuning into Xhale City's The 20 Days of 420. Where we discuss what CBD actually is.
"CBD is everywhere. You can get it in your drinks, you can smoke it, use lotions, oils, vape, edibles, concentrates, and even cartridges. But what is CBD?
CBD or cannabidiol is a compound found in the hemp plant. CBD is one chemical found alongside over 100 other chemical compounds called cannabinoids.
THC or tetrahydrocannabinol is a different type of cannabinoid that produces the feeling of euphoria when ingested. But CBD… does not produce a high. So what does it do?
CBD can provide relief to things like relaxing muscles, nausea, anxiety and inflammation.
CBD acts like another type of chemical our bodies naturally produce, called endocannabinoids. And our bodies create endocannabinoids to communicate to cells when they may not be able to send messages on their own. Messages that we are hungry, sleepy or just out of balance.
So when you ingest CBD, it acts like an endocannabinoid and carries these messages for the cells."
